Due to the increased number of animals being surrendered to HSNT's facility and extremely high call volume, we ask that you fill out the surrender form, to request an appointment. We appreciate your patience.

Pet Surrender & Rehoming Services in Fort Worth
Making the decision to surrender a pet is never easy. At the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT), we understand that unexpected life changes can make it difficult to care for a beloved companion. Our goal is to help every family explore the best possible option for their pet, whether that means keeping them at home, safely rehoming them, or scheduling a surrender appointment when necessary. If surrender is ultimately the best choice, we'll help guide you through the process with compassion and care.
If you need to surrender equines, chickens, or roosters, please visit our Equine Resources page to explore available options. For additional assistance, contact our Equine Ranch at 817.891.6203 or equine@hsnt.org.
Before You Surrender Your Pet
Whenever possible, we encourage pet owners to consider alternatives to surrender. Many pets can successfully remain with their families or transition directly into a new home without experiencing the stress of entering a shelter.
Reach Out for Support
If you're facing temporary challenges, contact HSNT or other organizations that help keep pets with their families.
Rehome Your Pet with Someone You Trust
Friends, relatives, neighbors, or coworkers may be able to provide a loving home while allowing you to stay connected with your pet. Rehoming with someone you know can often be less stressful for your pet than entering a shelter environment.
