How to Celebrate Your Pet’s Birthday in Style!

Let’s set the scene: you love your birthday; who doesn’t? You get to celebrate with all your friends by having a cake and probably a dinner, and you receive presents; it’s the perfect day. You look over, and you see your pet in the corner. You suddenly realize, “Wait, I didn’t think about celebrating their birthday.” Your pet doesn’t get to throw their own birthday party or curate the guest list to go with it; it’s your job to do that for them! Here is how to throw your furry friend the best birthday party ever.

Step 1: The Guest List

The best guest list for your pet’s party includes their favorite person…YOU! It may also include some of the people they’ve met throughout their lives (your family, friends, pet sitter, neighbors), but it's most important that you’re there! You can also include their animal friends if they have any, whether it be from camp, boarding, or your friends' pets!

Step 2: The Food

Now, while you may have a nice chocolate cake for your birthday, your pet can’t enjoy that. So if you have the time, you should make your pet their own cake! For the humans, cupcakes are a great idea, as they are small and generally liked; if you can make them themed to your pet, that keeps the theme to them. For Dogs: You can include things like peanut butter, carrots, and pumpkin! For Cats: You can include things like tuna, chicken, and pumpkin! No matter what, though, you should make sure to add a cute little treat on top; it will encourage them to eat it!

Step 3: Activities

These don’t necessarily have to take place at the party. Taking your pet in the car (if they enjoy it) is a great activity for them, as it lets them see new things they couldn’t normally see! Bonus points if you have a dog and get them a pup cup as a special treat on the car

Of course, you can add or take away anything from this list. But this is just the bare essentials for a pet birthday party.
