Mighty Mutts Makeover

The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is now accepting applications for our 2025 Mighty Mutt Makeover— a high-energy training competition that pairs skilled trainers with high-drive shelter dogs in need of a second chance.

 

We’re assembling the DFW area’s top professional trainers to work with hand-selected dogs over a two-month training period, all leading up to an exciting public event on Saturday, August 16th, where hundreds of attendees will cheer on the transformations. Trainers will showcase obedience, tricks, and more—and have the chance to win up to $1,000 in prizes!

To qualify, trainers must follow fear-free, force-free, or LIMA-based methodologies and be able to foster and train a designated dog beginning in June. HSNT will provide all supplies, veterinary care, and a 24/7 support portal to connect with fellow participants and our behavior team throughout the challenge.
