Gandalf FKA Hermes

A year after losing our senior lab, we felt that it was time to add a dog to our lives again. We spotted Hermes on your listings and saw that he was at an adoption event right down the road from us. We drove over, but saw another couple with him. Surely he was going to be adopted, so we left. But we couldn't shake the feeling that we should have at least asked to play with him, so we went back, and to our surprise, they hadn't adopted him. So we did!

With his long, scraggly grey and white fur, Gandalf felt like the perfect new name for him. Right off the bat he was patient and calm around our three-year-old, he picked up on house training, and it felt like he'd always been part of our family.

Over the next few months, his personality really started to shine. He's our self-appointed house guardian, always at the window making sure anyone who walks by knows he's on duty. But yet he's wonderful on walks, well-behaved around other dogs and people, and we bring him along wherever we go. Inside, he's a total velcro dog, always at our side, ready for cuddles, pets, and plenty of kisses.

We don't know what circumstances led him to HSNT, but we're so grateful they did, because now he's ours. Thank y'all for the work y'all do!
