Three years ago, Alyson said goodbye to her first true love, Cookie. Losing her left a hole in Alyson and her familyโ€™s hearts that never fully healed. Every night since, Alyson has held tight to Cookieโ€™s favorite toy, a worn, raggedy little stuffed panda, a quiet reminder of the love they shared.

This past December, at ๐‡๐’๐๐“'๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐ข๐ง๐๐จ๐ฐ adoption event at Neiman Marcus, Alyson noticed an empty-looking crate. Beneath blankets and shredded paper was a tiny puppy, fast asleepโ€ฆ named Panda. It was love at first sight.

Pandaโ€™s new family truly believes Panda was a little hello sent by their Cookie in doggie heaven, a gentle nudge that it was okay to open their hearts again.

Now, Alyson and Panda are inseparable, velcroed together every chance they get, healing each other in ways only a rescue dog and her girl can.
