Purple Abstract

On July 13, 2022, our sweet angel Lani returned to heaven to be pain-free and to once again be the same young, healthy dog she once was. When I adopted her at the shelter they believed she was 2-4 years old at the time. She blessed us with her amazing, loyal company for almost 15 years. The times we are living in are very financially hard. Finding a caring, trusted, and affordable place is very challenging. The Humane Society of North Texas brings such amazing, life-changing animals into people's lives. When I arrived that day, I won't lie, the first person who welcomed us, in my personal opinion, wasn't very caring and his energy wasn't too friendly. But we're all humans and everyone has good and bad days. The second person who came from his office, I believe his name starts with the letter T, was more caring and patient with us, in my personal opinion. I confess that I really don't understand why I couldn't stay with my baby girl until her last breath. It was very spiritually significant for me to hold her until the end. But to be honest, it was definitely very traumatic and emotional. I understand now why it's best to say goodbye while they are relaxed. Thank you for being patient with me and giving us all the time to say goodbye, but most importantly, for being so caring and bringing her body in her favorite blanket back to my car in such a loving way. You even gave us her paw prints. Thank you all for your dedication, care, and love for all the animals that come into your care.
