We adopted our sweet girl from here on Saturday! We went to several other places first and HSNT Keller was BY FAR the nicest! The employees were so kind and helpful. It did not stink when you walk in(other places definitely did!). They have individual meet and greet rooms where you can meet puppies under 6 months old or a play yard to meet older dogs. They emailed us everything we needed - microchip information, vet records, and contract. It was a great experience and I highly recommend working with them or making a donation to fund this great cause!

Congratulations to Jyn!! ❤️🎉

The beautiful paint mare with a heart of gold has found her forever home!

Our cruelty team rescued Jyn from an extreme neglect case last May. She was emaciated and her feet were in very poor condition. When we first met her, her head was down, she was despondent and extremely weak. But even in that state, she wanted to be close to us and you could tell that this sweet girl loved to bond with people. Soon after we brought her to the ranch she had her intake appointment at Reata Equine Hospital and the healing began.

Over the course of five months, Jyn was able to slowly gain weight and regain her full strength. She had multiple appointments with our farrier to get her feet healthy.

Jyn’s transformation has been remarkable!
With her gentle disposition and sweet personality, she became one of our main education horses and helped to demonstrate our rehabilitation training methods to our new volunteers!

Jyn has touched all of our hearts at the ranch and we couldn’t be happier for this resilient girl! She has found a loving famiy and the most beautiful and peaceful new home with a new pasture mate that is also a mare that was rescued by HSNT many years ago! 🥰💕

Tangerine’s Doggy Day Out 🍊🐾

What a day! Tangerine had an absolute blast zooming around the yard and perfecting his own unique version of fetch 🤣 who needs help when you can throw the ball yourself?

Car rides are still a little nerve-wracking, but with time and patience, he’s getting more comfortable 💛

There was also a surprise pool dip 😅 not exactly planned, but he handled it like a champ and even showed off his swimming skills. Afterward, he enjoyed a sunny walk to dry off, staying calm on leash and barely reacting to people or dogs passing by.

"In 2019 I walked into the HSNT Keller Regional location looking for my doggy match. The first dog I asked about had been adopted earlier that day. The second? That was Ranger.

The tech warned me he might not fit what I was looking for or needing, since my medical team had recently told me I needed a medical alert service dog. However, I'm stubborn.

So, I met Ranger in the yard. He proceeded to chase a fly around before lying under the awning with me. As he grew comfortable with me, we interacted more until he decided to pull my keys from my purse and drop them at my feet.

I knew he was the one.

After my mom and dad approved and the paperwork was signed, he was officially mine.

He proved that he was the dog for the job immediately. Within days of coming home, I had a flare-up, and even without training, he was amazing through it all. Since then, he went on to complete hours of training with a fantastic trainer and organization, and then graduated to full-time service dog. Through ups and downs, hospital visits, flare-ups, good days and bad ones, he was right next to me. And the best boy.

His focus was always on me.

As he aged, his sight began to fade, and he retired from service dog work in 2023, but that message didn't quite reach him. At home and at pet-friendly places, he was always on duty.

January 29th, 2026, he took his final breaths in my arms.

All of this to say. Thank you for giving me the gift of him. He was and forever will be my best friend. I think this is one for the history books and wanted to share. I will forever be grateful for HSNT Keller and the opportunity to love Ranger for these years. Thank you."
