Out of an abundance of caution, the intake of dogs at the Lancaster Avenue location is temporarily closed to prevent the possible spread of canine influenza in our shelter. In addition, dog adoptions from the Saxe-Forte (Fort Worth) location are also temporarily closed.
LIVESTOCK RESOURCES
Livestock animals (such as chickens, goats, cows, etc.) come with their own unique set of expenses and requirements. The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) offers a safe space and resources to help when you need additional options.
HSNT would love to discuss ways to keep animals at home whenever possible - give us a call!
If rehoming your livestock is your only option, we first suggest you try rehoming your animal with friends or family that you trust.
If you are not able to rehome your animal, contact HSNT to rehome your healthy chickens, goats, cows, pigs, or other livestock animals. Call our Livestock Department at (817) 891-6203 or email livestock@hsnt.org to discuss available rehoming options.
If you need assistance with your equine(s) such as horses, donkeys, or mules, please visit our Equine Resources page.
For rabbits and other small animals, please visit our Rehoming or Surrendering a Pet page.
