Out of an abundance of caution, the intake of dogs at the Lancaster Avenue location is temporarily closed to prevent the possible spread of canine influenza in our shelter. In addition, dog adoptions from the Saxe-Forte (Fort Worth) location are also temporarily closed.
HUMANE EUTHANASIA
HSNT strives to alleviate the suffering of all animals in North Texas. The humane euthanasia cost is a flat fee of $60 dollars. As always, you are welcome to make an additional donation in your pet’s honor.
This service is designed to assist pet owners in providing their suffering pets with compassionate relief from illness, disease, or severe aggression. Please check with your local animal control office to find out if they offer humane euthanasia services to residents in their community.
HSNT provides Humane Euthanasia at our Clinic between 12 p.m.–5 p.m. by appointment on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, as well as 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday. An appointment is necessary and can be scheduled by emailing HumaneEu@hsnt.org or leaving a voicemail at 817.332.4768 x144. Your call or email will be returned within 24 hours. Emergency euthanasia will always take precedence over all scheduled euthanasia.
HSNT is not able to offer cremation, however you are welcome to take your precious pet home with you for burial. We can offer contact information for crematory services.
You will be given an opportunity to say good-bye to your beloved pet and then will be asked to step out of the room for the procedure. HSNT will offer a free memorial paw print.
