Congratulations Padme!! 👑✨🎉

We rescued darling Padme from a cruelty case along with three other horses. She arrived at the ranch underweight and in very poor condition. During her intake exam, it was determined that Padme needed to be on a soaked diet due to the condition of her teeth.

After five months of regaining her strength, Queen Padme was ready to find her new forever home! Padme’s adopter came to the ranch seeking a smaller horse to be a companion for her other mare. Sweet Padme was the perfect match ❤️

❣️NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEK ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY❣️

I found Vera at an HSNT @PetSmart Ridgmar National Adoption event when I was looking for another dog after my beloved German Shepherd mix, Max, passed away at the age of fifteen. My remaining dog, Oakley, a miniature Australian Shepherd, was lonely without a companion. I was used to having multiple dogs, so I went to the event hoping to find just the right dog to share a home with Oakley and me.
Vera was the second dog brought in from the van, and I was immediately drawn to her. She was about the same size and age as Oakley, calm yet inquisitive, and so good-natured. She let me walk her around the store and was friendly with both people and other dogs. After much consideration, I knew she would be a wonderful fit—and she was so deserving of a loving home.

I haven’t regretted my decision for a single moment! Vera and Oakley get along beautifully, and Vera has been a delight from the start. She’s smart, adaptable, playful, and very sweet. She settled into her new home almost immediately, and since I work from home, my two girls are with me all the time.

Thank you all for the incredible work you do for dogs and cats. 💚

From floodwaters in Central Texas to forever homes — Katy and Karter’s journey is one of resilience, hope, and love.

These two were among more than 100 pets that the Humane Society of North Texas welcomed into our adoption program after devastating floods struck Central Texas. From sitting in a shelter with an uncertain future, to being flown to North Texas, to finding one another again at an HSNT adoption event at @PetSmart — their story came full circle when they were adopted together.

Their adopters shared:

“We’re adapting to having them in our laps all day and our bed at night. This is new territory for us, but we’re really enjoying their cuddly and affectionate natures. We’ve been lucky with all our dogs over the years, but these two have slid right into our routines. With doggie door training only taking a couple of days, there have been very few accidents. They are both so happy to be here!

Katy was a little reserved at first, but she came around within the first week—offering kisses and cuddles as soon as she felt safe. We love how bonded they are to each other and have had zero issues with separation anxiety. Overall, it has blessed us immensely, filling the holes left by losing our previous pets so close to each other.”

From surviving the flood to being flooded with love, Katy and Karter remind us that every act of rescue changes two lives — theirs and yours. 💚

We rescued this sweet mustang from an extreme cruelty case. Upon arrival at the ranch, he was in very poor condition and was depressed.

He went through a lot to get healthy, but recently the beautiful light came back to his eyes and he started to canter around his pasture showing off and bonding with everyone he met! 🥰

Thank you to the amazing vet team at Reata Equine Hospital for all of your loving care of Han during his stays with you!

Han has settled in wonderfully at his new forever home and we couldn’t be happier for this resilient guy and his new owner!!
