Vera

I found Vera at an HSNT PetSmart Ridgmar National Adoption Week event while looking for another dog after my beloved German Shepherd mix, Max, passed away at 15. My remaining dog, Oakley, a miniature Australian Shepherd, was lonely without a companion. I was used to having multiple dogs, so I went to the event hoping to find just the right dog to share a home with Oakley and me.

Vera was the second dog brought into the store from the HSNT adoption van, and I was immediately drawn to her. She was about the same size and age as Oakley, calm yet inquisitive, and so good-natured. She let me walk her around the store and was friendly with both people and other dogs. After much consideration, I knew she would be a wonderful fit—and she was so deserving of a loving home.

I haven’t regretted my decision for a single moment! Vera and Oakley get along beautifully, and Vera has been a delight from the start. She’s smart, adaptable, playful, and very sweet. She settled into her new home almost immediately, and since I work from home, my two girls are with me all the time.
