Millie

Millie has been such a blessing. 🐾 I first saw her photo on the Humane Society of North Texas website—she caught my eye more than once.

We had recently and suddenly lost our beloved dog, Leon, who I adopted from HSNT 10 years ago. The bond we shared was unmatched; he was truly a lifesaver. Because of that deep connection, I wasn’t sure we were ready for another dog.

One day at lunch, my wife and I stopped by the HSNT shelter off Lancaster—thinking Millie was at a different location and that we were just going to visit and show some love. 🏡💚

We walked the aisles, played with some puppies, and made our way to the larger dogs. That’s when I saw her—sweet, calm, quiet Millie. In the middle of the barking and chaos, she sat peacefully—just like Leon had the day I found him in that very same building. In that moment, we knew: it was meant to be. ✨

Since then, Millie has come out of her shell and bonded with our 9lb sidekick, Dash.  She’s a true family dog—gentle, affectionate, and incredibly sweet with our young daughter.

We’re so grateful to HSNT for bringing both Leon and Millie into our lives, and we’ll continue to support and share their incredible work.
