We're still taking in animals from Katrina and Rita. In three days last week

left from the area where it actually made landfall.

9/14/05:
Thanks to your efforts we have plenty of food for our Katrina guests. We
are still in dire need of toys, bedding, treats and most importantly,
monetary donations. We have reduced our adoption fee to $40 for the remainder
of September to help make room for Katrina animals and to help adopt them.
9/9/05:
HSNT received 17 more cats and 5 dogs last night from the Hurricane evacuation.
All were shelter evacuees and are ready for adoption. Also, we have lent our
adoption trailer to the rescue effort and it is in Gonzalez, LA at the
Lamar-Dixon Expo Center being used to house animals waiting for their
owners to reclaim them. It was taken down Wednesday loaded with pet supplies
that were donated at our shelter.
9/3/05:
HSNT received 40 evacuees from Katrina on Saturday and they are currently
available for adoption at the East Lancaster shelter.
