"20 live, 2 dead Pit Bulls Seized from Fort Worth Home"

One man arrested and 22 dogs seized in suspected dog fighting case! FWPD and The Humane Society of North Texas removed 16 live dogs; 4 live puppies and 2 dead dogs from the property today.

The Humane Society of North Texas, working with the Fort Worth Police Department removed a total of 22 dogs from a suspected dog fighting scene. FWPD officers were flagged down by a good samaritan and were alerted to a possible dog fight in progress. One suspect was arrested as HSNT investigators inspected the site and removed the animals for medical care.

The dogs, pit bulls, were in poor physical condition with evidence of fighting on most of the dogs. 2 dead dogs were removed and 4 young puppies are all being cared for by the Humane Society of North Texas. Currently investigators for the Humane Society of North Texas are working with FWPD on possible cruelty charges.

The Humane Society of North Texas will be caring for the dogs until ownership and disposition is determined. This is the second seizure involving "blood sport" activity in the past 2 weeks by HSNT. Christmas day, HSNT investigators, again with FWPD seized 25 cock fighting roosters in what investigators believe to be a cock fighting ring. That investigation is still pending.
